"Yep. Ya caught me. I like to break a mental sweat, too."
It's time for another installment of "Theme Songs." This week's edition: Fishing! (for Tony, of course)
Can you think of songs that mention fishing anywhere in them? Here are our examples:
1. Summer Nights - Van Halen (Tony always tells me, when we hear this song, that it is the first song Sammy Hagar wrote with Van Halen)
2. Fishin in the Dark - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
3. Downeaster Alexa - Billy Joel
4. I'm Gonna Miss Her - Brad Paisley
5. Takin Care of Business - Bachman-Turner Overdrive
6 Fish On - Primus
7.
Wow! This is a tough one! I feel as though you'll have an advantage in creating a fishing playlist if you like Country music. A bit more difficult if you don't. What's on your list?
6 comments:
"Fisherman's Blues" by The Waterboys... one of my favorite songs ever.
"Beach House on the Moon" by Jimmy Buffett. But I promise I'm not a Parrothead.
And I notice Charles is holding "Barnyard Dance". It's a fave around here too... who wouldn't want to stand with the donkey?
Okay, to add to the list,
"Bethlehem"--Paula Cole (there is reference to fishermen)
"And it Stoned Me"-Van Morrison
"Under the Sea"--The Little Mermaid
Not an easy one this week.
"Catfish John" by Alison Krauss
Otherwise, I'm at a total loss. "Fishin' In The Dark" leapt to mind, but you already named that of course.
I thought of two more playlists for you: songs with colors in the title, and songs with numbers in the title.
Wait a minute, how about "Joy To The World" by Three Dog Night? You know, "joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea..." Does that count?
I say it counts, Carol. Nice one.
